Details:
Come join a bunch of women finding their voice and their power through song. We sing songs all taught by ear, there are no solos, no sheet music or pressure. We sing for connection, not perfection! We support each other, we uplift each other and we let the outside world fall away for an hour so we can be with ourselves and our community. No experience necessary. If you can talk you can sing!
Come and find your voice, and your community!

What to expect
The doors will be open as it is a pub. You will come into the main bar area and we will be in the room that is to the left of the bar if you are looking at the bar. The door will be open to welcome you but once we start singing it will be closed. Please don’t worry if you are running late! There will be space for you in the circle, just come on in.
We sit on chairs in a circle and we sometimes stand up especially in more rousing songs. We sing a real variety of songs, there is no sheet music or pressure. I teach everything by ear. I will sing a line of a song and you will sing it back to me and bit by bit we learn songs like that and layer up harmonies as we go. Even if you think you can’t sing or you don’t sound “good”, this group isn’t about that, we sing for joy and wellbeing, not for performance.
We will always do a name round so we all get to know each other as the weeks go on and sometimes we meet up outside of the singing sessions for social occasions. We have a whatsapp group that you are welcome to join, it’s not a super chatty group - but a good place to drop a message if you are running late or if you can’t make it. It’s a lovely way for us to know if you’re away for a week -we will miss you and to remember you. We can also share songs on this group and have impromptu meet ups if you fancy meeting in between sessions to sing!
If you are nervous about joining us, please do feel free to drop me a message and we can chat about any questions you may have. We really are a lovely bunch and we will welcome you wholeheartedly.
Please note that you are welcome to purchase drinks from the bar. The venue has asked that we do not bring our own water bottles but instead ask them for tap water, they are happy to provide this.
Parking options
Sometimes people manage to find a spot close by on the road but if not Crescent Road car park is a good option as well as Great Hall car park
What do others say about Hannah's singing sessions?
“Hannah leads her singing sessions with comfort and calm. She creates a secure environment where everyone is valued and engaged. The songs we sing are skillfully and gently taught by Hannah enabling all to join in and enjoy the experience of singing together. Everyone leaves the session feeling supported and filled with positivity. Additionally, Hannah shares her own experiences and expertise and welcomes everyone to be themselves and to share feelings whilst being nourished with plenty of tea and cake.” Helen, 2024
“Singing Mamas with Hannah has been a lifesaver since becoming a mum. A safe space, a welcoming community of women who support with kindness and an opportunity to sing and release! Hannah brings joy, awareness, soul and light (even in the darker days you sometimes find yourself in, particularly in the early days of motherhood). I think everyone should have a singing mamas group” Sophie, 2025
“I never thought I was much of a singer and was quite nervous to join, but Hannah has made it a really lovely experience. Getting together with a bunch of like minded women has been so great for my mental health and It connects you to that vital village so many of us are missing today. You sing out whatever you are feeling and head off home filled with joy and understanding. Of all the classes we do each week, this is by far my favourite. Thank you!” Serena, 2025
